Shadowing and Exchanges
An element of LEAD that past delegates frequently cite as their favourite is the shadowing and exchange process. Working hard at leading a business often means you don’t have the opportunity to see how others in similar situations work. Observing someone else at work and then putting into practice what you have seen are some of the most powerful ways of learning. As with all aspects of KTI’s programme, we know that learning from someone with real-world experience is often more effective than hearing it from an expert in a classroom.
You will be paired up with a fellow LEAD delegate and spend time in each others’ businesses, ‘shadowing’ your partner and reflecting on their ways of working and how they lead their staff. After the shadowing comes the ‘exchange’ where you will go into your partner’s business and run a mini consultancy project on something you both agree is significant.
This is a unique opportunity to see first-hand how another business leader operates and have them feedback to you their thoughts on your style of leadership. The levels of trust and confidence in one another to enable this to happen can only be achieved in a programme as supportive and carefully constructed as LEAD.
