Leadership Masterclass 5 - "Transformational Leadership and Emotional Intelligence" Pauline Clare
Pauline Clare's masterclass explores two approaches to leadership - transformational leadership, and the role of emotional intelligence. As the UK's first female Chief Constable and now a respected coach, Pauline has a wealth of knowledge and experience upon which she draws during this inspiring masterclass.
Delegates will learn how transformational leadership was vital to Pauline's positive changes to Lancashire Constabulary and how they too can inspire significant change in their organisations. Pauline also reveals the importance of understanding emotional intelligence as a leader and how this can be harnessed to make businesses even more successful. During this interactive masterclass delegates have the opportunity to reflect on their own approaches to leadership in light of what they have learned from Pauline's experiences.
In her last post as Chief Constable of the Lancashire Constabulary (1995-2002), she lead the organisation though significant change, including cultural changes, when staff and their development was at the heart of everything that took place. Her preferred leadership style is transformational but with a focus on performance improvement. Since 2004, the Lancashire Constabulary has been assessed the best performing force in England and Wales.
After 36 years in the Police Service, Pauline retrained in executive coaching, life coaching, team coaching and as a coach trainer. She is currently using these skills when coaching individuals and teams in public and private sector organisations and when training managers on 'in-house' training courses. Additionally she is a leading tutor training delegates on accredited post graduate certificate courses in executive coaching. She has a degree in Psychology, an Advanced Diploma in Executive Coaching, a Post Graduate Diploma in Coaching Psychology and a certificate in Life Coaching. Pauline is a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and is regularly supervised in her coaching activities. Pauline also provides coaching on KTI's LEAD programme.
In 1993, she was awarded the honour of 'Lancashire Woman of the Year' and given an Honorary Fellowship from the University of Central Lancashire in 1994. She is a Companion of the Chartered Management Institute and a member of the Institute of Directors.
