Action learning sets form a crucial part of KTI’s overall LEAD learning experience. They are a powerful and supportive way of focusing on the matters and issues that LEAD delegates face. Action learning will help you make better informed decisions, become more strategic in your thinking, and give you the confidence to tackle the issues that matter to you. In our experience many people have found their action learning sets so helpful that they carry on meeting years after their initial programme has finished.
Sets are made up of six or seven LEAD delegates and an experienced facilitator who will introduce you to the Action Learning process and guide each session. Each set meets regularly throughout the programme giving each individual the opportunity to discuss and resolve real issues that are important to you and your business. By drawing on the experience and knowledge of your LEAD colleagues you will explore different ways of tackling your issue, before agreeing some positive actions you can take.
Action learning is ideally suited to owner managers of SMEs. It provides you with an environment to discuss the issues that you can’t talk about to anyone else. It can be an isolated position running a small business but action learning sets give you the chance to work with and learn from other people who know exactly what you are going through. It’s not about being taught by an ‘expert’, it’s about using the years of combined business experience of your fellow LEAD peers to help you come to the decisions that are right for you. As well as resolving real issues you will learn new communication skills and techniques that you can use with your staff to help them develop.
KTI’s facilitators are highly trained and experienced in running action learning sets for SME owner managers. We know how powerful the process can be and have helped hundreds of business owners grow and develop their companies. Three of our team have previously run action learning sets on the pilot LEAD programme and, as with every KTI team member, we all run our own small businesses giving us first-hand knowledge of the SME world.
